Mickel Miller finally agreed to join Stoke City on a free transfer
Stoke City eyeing move for Championship winger on free transfer
The goal of Stoke City is to bolster their team in preparation for the next Championship season.
Last season, the Potters had a dismal year, placing 17th in the second division.
Though it is his first summer leading the Potters, Steven Schumacher will be hopeful that the preseason would
provide him enough time to establish himself on Stoke City’s roster.
Miller, 28, participated in 34 Championship games for Plymouth Argyle in the previous campaign,
with one goal and one assist.
Though Schumacher has yet to establish himself in the Championship—his finest season came in League One while
at Rotherham United—he clearly trusts Miller, with whom he worked at Home Park, to bring something special to
the Potters’ roster.
The attacker was apparently attracting interest from Portsmouth and Preston North End, but with Miller’s contract
expiring at the end of the month, Stoke City is now pursuing a transfer.
A lengthy journey ahead Stoke City has had difficulties in the Championship since relegating to the second division
in 2018. Having only played in 25 games for the team, Schumacher will need more time over the course of the
upcoming season to fully implement his strategies.
However, the Potters are in dire need of development and cannot afford to run another campaign quite like the one
they had.
