Sunderland finally lay down conditions for initial partnership with Chester-Le-Street Town It is believed
that starting with the upcoming season, Chester-Le-Street Town and Sunderland’s Professional Game Academy
League team will have connections. Some of Sunderland’s future stars will get their first taste of senior football from the
County Durham team, who will compete in the fifth division in 2024–2025. Chester-Le-Street
Town is hoped to assist some of Sunderland’s youth.
The collaboration is a major win for Chester-Le-Street Town because Sunderland’s academy system has been
one of the most prestigious in the women’s game for the past 20 years. The Cestrians are hopeful that some of
their own players would benefit from the deal as well.
Town of Chester-Le-Street In the North East game, the women’s squad has established
themselves since they separated from the men’s club in 2009. Before being demoted this season,
the Cestrians spent a number of seasons in the FA Women’s National League Division One North.
