Teenage Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme describes his move to the Premier League as a

dream come true after signing a five-year contract with West Ham for £25.5 million from Palmeiras.

The 18-year-old has signed a five-year contract to become manager Julen Lopetegui’s first signing since taking over last month,

following David Moyes’ second tenure at the helm ending at the end of the season.

Guilherme will complete his move on Friday, when the Premier League transfer window opens, pending international clearance and a work visa.

“I’m very happy to be signing with West Ham, a club that believed in my abilities,” he said on the club’s website.

” I’d also like to thank everyone at West Ham, especially the team that travelled to Brazil and spoke with not just me, but also my family.

“They presented the project, and both my family and I enjoyed it.

So, I’m delighted to be joining this club and intend to contribute as much as possible. If all goes well, we’ll have a wonderful voyage ahead.”

Guilherme confirmed that he had already spoken with former Wolves manager Lopetegui,

saying, “He showed me his project, and I believe I’ll learn a lot from him.” He has coached at the national level in Spain and managed large clubs.

“The Premier League is the top league in the globe.

I believe I will progress significantly here with the full West Ham staff, which is critical to my development.

“Growing up, whenever I got the opportunity, I watched English football.

Seeing how things are and now being able to play here is a fantastic experience.

“I’ve had this dream since I was eleven, and it’s finally becoming a reality.

I’m really pleased with it and appreciative to West Ham. “Let us go for it!”

Guilherme made his Palmeiras debut in 2023 at the age of 17 and represented the team in this season’s Copa Libertadores.
