Julian Alvarez’s future at Manchester City is unknown, as deal strikes a new dimension.

According to reports, Julian Alvarez is thinking about leaving Manchester City,

with a number of elite teams expressing interest in signing him.

The Argentine forward is looking for a club where he can get regular game time because he is not thrilled with his playing time at City.

Over his tenure at the Etihad,

Alvarez has mainly been Erling Haaland’s sidekick.

Alvarez has drawn interest from a number of prominent teams.

His camp has lately been contacted by Paris Saint-Germain, and the 24-year-old is also attracting interest from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

Any team hoping to sign Alvarez, though,

will have to pay the high asking price of almost £68 million set by City.

Alvarez left River Plate in January 2022 to sign with Manchester City for an alleged sum of £14 million.

He was loaned to the team until July 2022.

Alvarez has started 44 Premier League games during his two seasons at City and scored 20 goals.

The Argentine played more games last season—starting 31—because Kevin De Bruyne was sidelined for a large portion of them due to injury.

Alvarez is a flexible player with superior technical abilities and a keen sense of the rules of the game.

This season, Pep Guardiola used him all over the front line,

although his main role was to cover for De Bruyne as an attacking midfielder.

In that capacity, Alvarez made an impression by not just scoring goals but also making innovative contributions to the club.

The fates of Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne will have a significant impact on Alvarez’s future at City.

Alvarez might want to leave the club if both decide to stay in order to avoid being a backup.

Alvarez, though, could be able to clinch a spot in the lineup if one of them departs.

Alvarez’s exit would be a huge loss for Manchester City, but it might be required given his talent,

which should earn him a starting position at a premier team.
