Joel Embiid went to X to troll Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night during Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks.

“Did the Bucks give [Boston] the championship?” Boston led 80–75 heading into the fourth quarter thanks to Embiid’s post. In late September 2023, the Bucks made history by trading Jrue Holiday to the Trail Blazers.

The Celtics quickly took advantage of this to get the seasoned guard from Portland in a different trade.

The C’s have gained a lot from that decision because Holiday has been outstanding in these playoffs, scoring 38 points in total with no turnovers in final Games 1 and 2.

Ironically, Embiid’s article argues that Boston should have faced the Milwaukee Bucks instead of his Sixers, who finished as the No. 7 seed and lost to the New York Knicks in the first round.

However, it’s difficult to ignore the notion that the Bucks regret dealing Holiday to one of their fiercest Eastern Conference opponents.

In Game 3, Holiday finished with nine points, four rebounds, and five assists as Boston overcame a late Mavs rally to win 106-99 and grab a 3-0 series lead.
