Inter Milan offers an attacking midfielder plus €20 million for Genoa attacker.

This summer, Inter Milan is prepared to let go of Valentin Carboni,

their offensive midfielder,

in order to make room for Albert Gudmundsson of Genoa.

This is reported by FCInterNews citing the print edition of the Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport from today.

According to the newspaper, Premier League teams,

Atalanta, and Fiorentina are keeping an eye on Carboni.

It appears that Carboni is a player that may depart from Inter this summer.

The 19-year-old Argentine international,

who is a member of the Albiceleste squad for this summer’s Copa America,

has already had proposals for him turned down by the Nerazzurri.

Fiorentina had made a €20 million bid. Inter declined to accept this.

The Nerazzurri would,

however, take proposals this summer.

But they would demand a very high price for Carboni.

Carboni would reportedly fetch at least €30 million from Inter to sell.

According to the Gazzetta,

Fiorentina might think about rekindling their interest in the Argentine.

Raffaele Palladino, the new coach at Viola who worked with the teenager at Monza, has set his sights on him.

Atalanta has also shown interest in Carboni in the interim.

Additionally, according to the Gazzetta,

the Premier League is interested in recruiting the 19-year-old.

Valentin Carboni might be sold by Inter to finance the Albert Gudmundsson deal.

Inter has previously placed a high priority on holding onto Carboni.

Although the Argentine isn’t yet ready for the starting lineup,

Inter has always considered him as a player for the future.

The Gazzetta claims that the Nerazzurri are willing to sell Carboni now because they need the money to sign Genoa’s Gudmundsson.

For Inter, acquiring Gudmundsson is a crucial move for the next campaign.

The Icelandic striker is unlike any other forward in the Inter roster right now in terms of profile.

Additionally, the Nerazzurri like his adaptability and lack of fitness issues.

The Gazzetta does point out one possible problem with a move for Gudmundsson, though.

In his native Iceland, the 26-year-old is presently the subject of an ongoing inquiry about alleged sexual assault.

Considering the possibility of jail time,

this could definitely ruin a transfer to Inter.
