Threats to Chelsea’s deal are present as Atletico Madrid competes for a BARGAIN striker.

Paulo Dybala, a forward for AS Roma,

is reportedly wanted by Atletico Madrid,

who may use his attractive €12 million release clause this summer.

With just one year remaining on his current deal and a release clause that is solely available to foreign clubs,

the 30-year-old has been a stunning signing since coming in Rome back in 2022.

According to Spanish daily SPORT, Dybala has been named as an Atletico Madrid transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window. He has 16 goals and 10 assists in 37 games this season.

Due to his incredibly low release clause, the Argentina international has been heavily projected to depart Roma once the 2023–24 season comes to an end. Multiple elite European clubs are keeping a close eye on his position.

Even though Chelsea has maintained a U25 transfer policy since Todd Boehly took over in 2022,

the Blues have regularly been linked to a summer chase of Dybala, according to sources from Italy earlier this year.

While Dybala and Christopher Nkunku—and possibly even Cole Palmer—would naturally play in similar positions,

the former Juventus player would provide a level of elite expertise that Chelsea’s current roster badly lacks.

Mauricio Pochettino’s club will become even younger and less experienced with Thiago Silva’s probable departure,

and Enzo Fernandez has said in the past that signing Dybala would be a wise move for the Stamford Bridge team.

In addition, Silva stated last year at the Silverstone Formula One British Grand Prix that Dybala would be a great addition for Chelsea.

However, sources from Spain indicate that Atletico Madrid will provide a serious threat to the Blues,

and after years of interest in Dybala, Barcelona has also been linked to a summer transfer.
