Sky Sports: Atletico Madrid agree terms for La Liga giant player.

Artem Dovbyk of Girona and Atletico Madrid have reached a personal agreement as the team looks to sign the forward.

Dovbyk led La Liga in scoring at the end of the 2023–24 season, making history as the first player not from Barcelona or Real Madrid to win the Pichichi Award since Diego Forland in 2008–09,

and he helped guide Girona to a third-place result and Champions League qualification.

Dovbyk, who cost €7 million to acquire from Dnipro, scored 24 goals in the league,

including a hat-trick on the penultimate weekend,

to surpass Alexander Sorloth as the top scorer.

According to Sky, Atletico has reached a personal agreement with Dovbyk in front of a possible summer transfer, as the Spanish team is ready to trigger his €40 million release clause.

With Memphis Depay leaving on a free transfer and Atleti believing they can beat Napoli to sign Dovbyk, Diego Simeone is looking to add a striker.

The Ukraine international, who has recently been connected to a Premier League transfer,

will play for his country in the summer at Euro 2024.

He has nine goals in 27 games for the national side.
