Oh Hyeon-Gyun Signs for Serie A

South Korean international, has signed with Celtic, the team announced on Wednesday.
The attacker, 21, is joining Suwon Samsung Bluewing of K League 1 for a rumoured sum of £2.5 million ($3 million).

Oh, who has one cap for his nation, has made 53 appearances for Suwon and scored 14 goals.

He becomes the sixth Asian player to join Celtic’s roster after manager Ange Postecoglou

brought six Japanese players from the J-League to Scotland two years ago.

Postecoglou told the Celtic website, “He is a young, talented striker with great attributes and someone who is ready to take the next step in his career.”

“Oh is the striker I really wanted because I think he would fit right in with our squad. I have been watching him for a while.

“Most importantly, I know that he was adamant about joining us as well, and that his own persistence has been essential to closing this deal.”

Oh and the Hoops will sign a five-year contract, pending international clearance.
