Neheun Perez will cost €20 million amid West Ham United links

West Ham United is apparently interested in 23-year-old Argentine international Nehuen Perez,

but Serie A club Udinese is reportedly demanding €20 million to sell him.

Sport Witness has reported that West Ham United is interested in Nehuen Perez, per a report

published by Gazzetta dello Sport. Before the summer transfer window opens, the Hammers are searching the market for a center-back. In the meantime, Udinese will ask for almost €20 million in order to let go of the international player from Argentina.

Who is Nehuen Perez?

Nehuen Perez, who moved from Atletico Madrid to Udinese, has shown to be one of the top young defenders in Serie A. Hurlingham native, he was raised in his native country till he won the youth division of Argentinos Juniors. He was signed by Atletico Madrid in July 2018, although he was

unable to make even one game for Los Rojiblancos.

But ever since moving from Atletico Madrid to Udinese, Perez’s fortunes have changed. In the past three years, the 23-year-old has played almost 100 times; 36 of those games came in the 2023–2024 campaign. The defender from Argentina has also made a breakthrough for his country, earning his debut in September 2022.

A number of prestigious teams throughout Europe have taken notice of Perez’s growth at Udinese. There is a possibility that he will join West Ham United in the summer transfer window, which would mean a move to the Premier League. The child, however, won’t come cheap; Udinese is asking for €20 million in order to let go of him.

London calling?

It makes sense that West Ham United would be interested in Nehuen Perez. Before the summer transfer window opens, the Hammers are searching the market for a center-back. West Ham might use a new central defender, with Angelo Ogbonna well into his thirties and Nayef Aguerd’s future at the London Stadium unknown.

According to recent reports, the East London club may consider bids for Kurt Zouma. Thus, West Ham United is keeping an eye on a number of centre backs, including Vitao. But Perez is also a good target because of his €20 million price tag, which makes him an appealing choice.

Whether West Ham matches Udinese’s assessment of the player will be interesting to watch. It makes sense to fork over €20 million to acquire a highly regarded and talented young center-back, and an agreement to acquire the Argentina international may be imminent.
