Former Tottenham attacker signed a four-year contract with Newcastle United, dealing a blow to Man Utd’s transfer plans.

Transfers from Manchester United:

Omari Forson is expected to sign with a new team after reportedly having discussions with Newcastle United.

Omari Forson, a winger for Manchester United, has decided to sign with Serie A team Monza after his Old Trafford contract ends at the end of the month.

The 19-year-old signed a four-year contract with Monza on Tuesday after making seven appearances for Man United in the 2023–24 season.

He declined a new contract at the club in favor of a move to Italy.

This is in response to reports that Newcastle United and the young player discussed a possible free move.

The teenager was reportedly linked to moves to Sunderland and Middlesbrough, two Championship teams.

Forson will join a Monza team that placed 12th in the 2023–24 Serie A season.

The England Under-20 international’s primary position on the field is right wing,

a position Newcastle wants to bolster during the summer transfer window.

After five years at Man United, he departs,

and the club will be entitled to a compensation pay.

He was an academy player for West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

In January, the young player earned his Manchester United debut in the FA Cup third round against Wigan Athletic.

As Man United went on to win the competition,

he also made appearances off the bench in the fourth round and semifinal.

In January, Forson made his Premier League debut as well,

coming off the bench to help Kobbie Mainoo score the game-winning goal in the 97th minute against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

His lone senior football start came in February during the team’s 2-1 Premier League loss at home against Fulham.

He did not play in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory against Newcastle earlier this month.
