DONE DEAL: Wojciech Szczesny set to be paid over £250,000-a-week to become Cristiano Ronaldo’s new teammate at Al Nassr
According to talkSPORT, Wojciech Szczesny will join Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian squad. The Polish goalie
has been allowed to depart Turin by Juventus, with Michele Di Gregorio from Monza joining the team.
Szczesny will receive an annual salary of about £12.5 million in exchange for joining the Saudi Pro League team.
That works out to more over £250,000 every week for the former custodian for Arsenal.
This summer, Alexandre Lacazette has been linked to Al Nassr, so he wouldn’t be the first former Arsenal player to
do so.
Szczesny made 181 appearances for the Premier League’s biggest clubs after beginning his career with the Gunners.
Before leaving after Petr Cech arrived, he won the Community Shield and the FA Cup twice. After spending time on
loan at Roma, he became a mainstay at Juventus after joining in 2017. In his 252 games for the Old Lady, Szczesny has
won three Coppa Italia titles and three Serie A championships.
Ronaldo convinced Szczesny to switch Juventus for Al-Nassr
He was Ronaldo’s teammate for three years throughout this period, having joined Juventus in 2018 after leaving
Real Madrid. In the summer of 2021, the Portuguese sensation moved from Turin to Manchester United. He stayed
at Old Trafford for a season and a half before finalising his transfer to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper was a teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo when he was at Juventus.
It was thanks in part to Cristiano Ronaldo that Wojciech Szczesny decided to accept a summer transfer to Al-Nassr
rather than continue with Juventus.
