AC Milan, Arsenal Receive Major Boost as PSG Withdraws from Race for Monaco Midfielder
Youssouf Fofana, a midfielder for AS Monaco, is set to depart from the Ligue 1 team this summer.
The Frenchman has been connected to a number of teams over the last few weeks, including AC
Milan, Arsenal, Atlético Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer market expert, recently revealed that the 25-year-old will definitely
depart Monaco this summer, with just one year remaining on his contract. Even said, Romano points
out that although Fofana is prepared to begin a new chapter, no advanced talks are currently under progress.
Romano also said that Fofana isn’t on the capital club’s shortlist to bolster their midfield; instead,
the Parisians are searching for players with a different profile in this position based on requests from manager Luis Enrique. Despite the fact that the midfielder will leave Monaco, it won’t be to his hometown club PSG.
With one year remaining on Fofana’s contract and Monaco having little clout, AC Milan hopes to
work out a fair deal and should be able to complete the transfer for as little as €20 million, according
to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport.
There will be one less rival to raise the price for the Serie A team if PSG withdraws from the
competition.
