Loanee and £21m striker who is now a ‘monster’

Numerous media sources, such as the72.co.uk, are stating that

Southampton and Newcastle United have reached a permanent transfer

agreement, and the player is satisfied with the terms that Saints are offering him.

Fraser played an important role in the Saints’ fight for promotion

the previous season. He started 15 games and added another 27 from

the bench in the league regular season and the three play-off games.

He was a fan favorite and scored six goals while playing in the Premier

League for both Bournemouth and Newcastle, adding experience to the team.

With Taylor Harwood-Bellis expected to sign too, it appears like he

will officially join Southampton at the beginning of July, which is

wonderful news for Saints supporters. Flynn Downes will round off the trio.

Southampton are likely to have to find an upgrade on Che Adams this summer, with the striker’s contract set to expire.

It is safe to assume that Che Adams will not be a Saint next season

given that he has had a contract offer on the table for the majority of

the season and that he is still linked to a move to Wolves or Nottingham Forest.
Stuart Armstrong’s departure from Southampton when his contract

expires this summer has already been known, while the club has stated that

Adams and goalkeeper Alex McCarthy are in contract negotiations.

Although Adams has never been a prolific scorer for Southampton,

he did manage to help the team qualify for the

Premier League at its first attempt last season with 15 Championship goals.

Should he depart, a replacement will be required; nevertheless,

manager Russell Martin is aware that a superior center-forward is required to

lead Saints to victory in the upcoming season.
Southampton have already been linked with moves for both

Ben Brereton Diaz and 18-year-old Argentine Jeronimo Domina,

but they will need extra firepower.

Brereton Diaz scored a decent six in 14 Premier

League appearances on loan at Sheffield United in the second half of last season, although Domina would be signed initially for the under-21 side.
