With Ryan Fraser, there seems to be hope for Newcastle United once again.

According to recent reports, a deal has been reached for the 30-year-old to

become a permanent fixture at Southampton.

The story, which originates from the dependable Athletic,

states that the parties have achieved a general deal and are only

Ryan Fraser has been anything from a cheap, “free” signing for

United has paid out enormous salaries, even heavily subsidizing this past season at Southampton

Ryan Fraser has taken enormous sums of money, but in exchange,

he has only started 30 Premier League games and scored two goals.

Hopefully, this transaction closes and Fraser,

who still has a year left on his contract, is permanently released off United’s payroll.

Because of their promotion, Southampton has the resources to

Ryan Fraser was more of a regular off the bench during this promotion campaign, making 27 substitute appearances, even though he only started 15 games as the Saints advanced.

Another highly expensive “free” signing, Jeff Hendrick, leaves at the end of this month. He signed during the same transfer window as Ryan Fraser, but he “only” received a four-year NUFC deal from Bruce and Ashley, one year less than Fraser.
