Stoke City captain Josh Laurent Signs for Sunderland

Josh Laurent, the captain of Stoke City, thinks that defeating Middlesbrough, Leeds United,

and Sunderland—three teams vying for promotion to the Championship—is “huge” for their confidence in their ability to advance this season.

The Potters’ commanding 2-0 victory against in-form Boro on Saturday came after

their earlier two games ended in triumphs over Leeds and the Black Cats.

Stoke is now four points outside of the top six in 11th place as a result of the results.

It’s been a fantastic week. It’s been incredibly fun,” Laurent remarked.

Alex Neil’s team was only two points above the bottom three in the table when the Potters were defeated by Leicester on October 7.

It marked their sixth loss in eight games, during which they had only one victory and were eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
