Just in: Star fanally moves to new club after quitting Tottenham – insider

After leaving Tottenham, Ivan Perisic has decided to sign a long-term contract with Hajduk Split, sources have told Football Insider.

The Croatian international’s contract with Spurs expired last week, and the team made the announcement of his departure.
The 35-year-old injured his ACL in September while exercising with Tottenham, and he ended up spending the second half of the previous season on loan with Hajduk Split.

Following his comeback to the field in March, Perisic is now fully recovered and is expected to compete for Croatia at the forthcoming European Championships after being named in their 26-man squad in advance of the competition.

The winger is set to sign a contract to become a permanent member of Hadjuk Split this summer.

Ivan Perisic joining Hajduk Split after Tottenham exit

Perisic, who had attended the Croatian first division team’s academy before joining the French club Sochaux in 2006, will reunite with the team.
The winger, who was born in Split and is also capable of playing left wing-back, has participated in over 600 games in his career.

The Croatian made 50 appearances for Tottenham in north London after leaving Inter Milan in 2022 on a free transfer, with one goal and fourteen assists.
After suffering an ACL injury, it was thought that Perisic’s season could be ended. However, in the latter part of the season, he played seven games for Hadjuk Split, earning a position in Croatia’s squad for the European Championships.

Along with Perisic, three more senior players who are departing Tottenham due to contract expiration are Eric Dier, Ryan Sessegnon, and Japhet Tanganga.

Since Football Insider reported that Spurs will consider bids for eight more senior players when the transfer window reopens, it seems doubtful that they will be the only departures this summer.

In other developments, Rodrigo Bentancur’s actions have prompted Tottenham to fire him.
