NOW OFFICIAL: Atletico Madrid finally seal a loan deal for Manchester City’s Julián Álvarez on a two year contract – Personal terms agreed

Atletico Madrid is reportedly interested in Manchester City attacker Julian Alvarez, whose future with the Premier League champions is far from assured. This information has been widely published this week. Still, it is unlikely that they will relocate permanently to the capital of Spain.

According to Marca, Atleti have ruled out signing Alvarez this summer on a permanent deal, as Man City’s asking price is believed to be in the region of €100m. A loan move is their only option, although it is one that they will heavily explore.

Atleti’s financial woes mean that a permanent operation is impossible, and although that would mean they are behind others in the race for Alvarez, they remain confident of getting their man. Club bosses believe that the influence of their Argentine stars, including Rodrigo De Paul, will play a significant role.

Atletico Madrid are banking on the fact that Alvarez will ask to leave Man City during the summer, because of his place as an irregular starter. It remains to be seen whether there is

movement on this in the coming weeks.
