Newcastle closes in on generational signing with medical scheduled for this week.

Newcastle hopes to finalize a significant signing this week as Eddie Howe looks squarely to the future at St. James’ Park.

After a disappointing season, Newcastle is trying to bolster their depth in order to contend for a top four spot.

Tosin Adarabioyo decided to join Chelsea when they took advantage of the Magpies’ move,

thus they have already lost out on one target.

But as they are in early negotiations to sign Trafford from Burnley,

they are getting close to adding a new goalkeeper.

A deal worth £15 million is already under consideration,

and the stopper has agreed to personal terms.

Numerous European clubs have expressed interest in signing him, and even after Burnley was relegated,

it was always assumed he would depart the team in the summer.
