According to Alan Nixon, Charlie Cresswell is expected to leave Leeds United

this summer and is expected to be pursued by clubs in France and Germany.

The teenage defender is going for the Elland Road exit door this summer

after finding it difficult to play a regular part under Daniel Farke last season,

the writer said on his Patreon page on June 9.

The England youth international is being pursued by Ligue 1 side Toulouse,

and when the summer transfer window opens,

Bundesliga teams Hannover and Hertha Berlin may also make offers for the player.

For Cresswell’s services, Farke’s team is hoping to get about £3 million,

and any possible exit will probably come with additional add-ons.

In order to balance the books at Elland Road, Leeds United will need to sell players this summer.

While Cresswell won’t be the biggest name to go,

Given that Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk have been on the field for the majority of the season,

the German coach has never trusted him in his starting lineup, and that is not going to change.

At his age, Cresswell will probably want to be playing first-team football on a regular basis,

but Leeds isn’t going to be able to do that for him for whatever reason.

Moving out this summer would be ideal for everyone.

It’s unclear if any of the other European teams would be willing to match the Whites’ £3 million asking price,

but it seems certain that a center-back will be acquired this summer for that amount.

Any transaction should ideally go through smoothly and swiftly so that the Whites can focus on possible incomings.
