11-time England international tipped for Aston Villa return as Wolves track £13m rated Pedro Neto replacement

As they get ready to make their first Champions League appearance since 1983, Aston Villa is looking to add a

backup to top scorer Ollie Watkins.

The Villains want to compete in the European tournament and win as many games as they can, but they will need a

deep squad to manage the demands of playing both domestic and European matches. This is especially true now

that a new format has been implemented, meaning the West Midlands team will play eight group stage games

rather than six.

In light of this, Villa have focused on Tammy Abraham, a former fan favorite. The 11-time England international

scored an amazing 25 goals in 39 games while on loan from Chelsea in 2018–19, helping his team win promotion

through the Championship play-offs.

After Villa’s promotion, they lobbied for the deal to become permanent, but Chelsea manager Frank Lampard

decided to start the striker in the starting lineup after he scored an outstanding 15 goals in 34 games.

After moving from Chelsea to AS Roma in 2021, the 27-year-old has been mainly successful, however his most

recent campaign was hampered by injury issues.After Abraham left, Villa sought to re-sign him on multiple times.

According to Italian daily TuttoMercatoWeb, this could be the ideal opportunity for the team to make a deal with

their former fan favorite.

The source states that Abraham might be sacrificed in order to raise the £10 million that the Serie A team needs to

raise by June 30 in order to abide with budgetary restrictions.

He said of his Villa season just a month ago, “Probably my best experience.” Looking back, I didn’t feel any regrets.

The club was incredible. It wasn’t until I signed that I realized how big they were. Getting the promotion was

undoubtedly one of my career’s greatest experiences to date.
