Rangers set asking price as Sam Lammers set for Ibrox exit

Rangers have apparently established an asking price and are willing to allow Sam Lammers to depart Ibrox this summer.

Lammers was acquired by the Gers from Atalanta last summer for an estimated £4 million.

He has been a huge failure at Ibrox,

and in January Philippe Clement sent him on loan to FC Utrecht.

After returning to form in Holland,

the striker broke a club record by scoring in seven straight games to cap off a stellar season.

FC Utrecht wants to sign him permanently in the summer, but their salary is too high.

But after qualifying for the Champions League,

FC Twente has increased their budget and is expressing a strong interest in signing him.

The Daily Record (8 June) reported that the Bears are want about £2.5 million for Lammers.

It indicates that they are prepared to let him go for a loss of about £1.5 million,

although Philippe Clement might have already made the audacious choice.

Lammers has not done enough to win Clement over,

even though he did well while on loan.

Lammers is probably going to be sacrificed,

as Rangers try to generate money and make room for the Ibrox summer renovation.

As he struggled to play in regular games under Clement,

The supporters quickly came to the conclusion that the player was a bad fit for the team

and that it was a bad signing.

Sent on loan in January,

Clement soon realized he wouldn’t be able to get the greatest performance out of him.

Moving to FC Twente seems like a good idea for everyone.

First of all, it makes perfect sense to sign him

because he has already shown his mettle in the Dutch league.

He might have the opportunity to play football in Europe

and would be interested in moving if an offer were made.

Rangers believe they will never get their money back,

therefore the Gers have to accept this little setback

and settle for whatever they can.
