Nottingham Forest have beaten West Ham to signing a star goalkeeper – Transfer drama causes chaos behind the scenes, leaves club shocked

Goalkeeper Carlos Miguel’s negotiations with Nottingham Forest and West Ham have left Brazilian club Corinthians in shock and caused chaos behind the scenes.

That’s according to GE, who say the goalkeeper is set to depart in the near future and the whole affair has proved to be a messy one.

Reports this week and particularly on Friday have Nottingham Forest and West Ham competing for the Brazilian goalkeeper, with the latest today indicating that he could be on the way to the former.

The move has pretty much come out of nowhere, with Nottingham Forest and West Ham making surprise moves this week and battling to win Miguel’s signature.

GE now provide a ‘behind the scenes’ on the matter, explaining how the negotiations have led to a change of agent for the player and ‘shock at Corinthians’.

They clarify that Corinthians was unprepared for the talks with West Ham and Nottingham Forest, which have exacerbated an already-brewing crisis at the Brazilian team.

The player was having tumultuous and unexpected conversations, which resulted from a fight between representatives that moved things along swiftly.

Gilmar Veloz, who oversees Tite and has a history with Corinthians, was Miguel’s manager. He mediated the agreement to bring him to the team in 2021 and the lowering of his contract’s release clause to merely €4 million.

But agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who began representing him last week and attracted suitors fast, initiated talks with West Ham and Nottingham Forest instead of him.

Negotiations with interested parties lasted less than a week and he quickly convinced the goalkeeper that is was a good idea to move to the Premier League.

Kia Joorabchian has also been involving, representing Forest and quickly pushing them to the front of the queue. They are now in negotiations to pay his release clause.

The deal was practically done on Friday, with Miguel informing the Brazilian club he would be leaving. According to GE, he is unhappy with the current management and now wants out.

The bureaucratic procedures, such as the payment of the €4m release clause, should be completed in the next few days and all indications are that he will be joining Nottingham Forest over West Ham after a week of drama.
