Kieran Tierney would ‘love’ to re-sign for Celtic

While offers are expected to be considered by Arsenal during the summer transfer window, Kieran Tierney would “love” to return to Celtic.

Senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke stated in a recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track

podcast that Tierney would seize the chance if a deal could be reached between the two teams.

The 27-year-old, who spent the previous season with Real Sociedad, is surplus to requirements in

Mikel Arteta’s squad and will be put up for sale this summer.

The Scottish champions, according to sources, are unlikely to be able to afford a long-term contract,

and a loan could be more difficult given his “huge” salaries.

Both sides are still eager for a reunion, though.

Since coming to England, Tierney has battled well-known injury problems. He missed a total of 55 games while playing for Arsenal and an additional 21 when he was in Spain.

Since joining the Gunners for a record-breaking £25 million in 2019, the left-back has made 124 appearances and won an FA Cup during that time.

Having played for Arsenal in the Europa League before, he made 26 matches on loan at Real Sociedad, including two in the Champions League.

Brendan Rodgers and his team may find value in Tierney‘s European competition expertise now that Celtic has qualified for the Champions League.

Football Insider said that Celtic may add five or six players this summer to bolster their roster in front

of their Champions League run.

But Tierney’s pay is anticipated to be too high for a deal, and Arsenal will probably want to recover

the majority of their £25 million investment.
