Tottenham ‘hatch Conor Gallagher transfer plan’ in bid to beat Aston Villa to Chelsea star
Tottenham are apparently hoping to negotiate a cheap summer transfer for Conor Gallagher before June 30.
The North Londoners are competing with Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid to sign the Chelsea midfielder.
Gallagher shone for Chelsea last season, but he might be one of the club’s most valuable assets, since any transfer
money received for the 24-year-old would be pure profit. Receiving a large amount for the England player would aid
the Blues in their battle to stay within profit and sustainability requirements.
The deadline for clubs to include any transactions in their 2023-24 records is June 30. Any moves made after that
date will be considered part of the 2024-25 campaign.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs feel they will be able to negotiate a low fee for Gallagher in the coming weeks as
they intend to move quickly for the former Crystal Palace and West Brom loanee.
Gallagher is currently on international duty with England and is highly likely to be included to the Three Lions squad
for Euro 2024. If he makes Gareth Southgate’s 26-man group, he will compete in the competition in Germany when
June 30 turns into July 1.
It remains to be seen whether this will prevent a prospective transfer before the June 30 deadline. Despite the fact
that there are only 11 days until the tournament, it is believed that all sides would like that Gallagher’s future be
determined before then.
Spurs are allegedly hoping to beat off Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid for Gallagher’s signature. Villa are expected to
bolster Unai Emery’s squad following their impressive qualifying for next season’s Champions League, and Gallagher
has been linked with an ambitious move.
