five-year contract with the Bundesliga winners. Belocian, who can play left back or as a CB, is the

first player Xabi Alonso’s team has signed during the summer transfer window. The Ligue 1 team will

get a transfer fee of €15 million for Jeanuël Belocian, which is a respectable return on investment for

a young player who spent three seasons playing for Les Rouge et Noir.

Leverkusen’s attempts coincided with Jeanuël Belocian’s entering his last year of contract with

Rennes, which was advantageous for all sides. Despite his youth and inexperience, Belocian’s ball-carrying skills and participation in build-up play appear to have attracted the attention of the

Bundesliga champions. He’s anticipated to challenge Piero Hincapié on the left side of Leverkusen’s defensive trio. Belocian will represent Bayer Leverkusen by donning the #44 jersey.

Although Jeroniël Belocian is a gifted player, he has much experience competing at the highest level

in France. “He possesses exceptional athleticism and a good passing ability,” stated Simon Rolfes, sporting director of Bayer 04 FC. The communication with Bayer 04 goes back a long way. Belocian continued, “It’s really amazing for me to be able to join the German double winners.

Belocian’s passing talent and athleticism were lauded by Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes, who added in a club statement that he “has the potential to be an important player for Bayer 04.”

Guadeloupe, an island in the French Caribbean, is where Belocian was born. Wilhem, his older brother, is a two-time French Olympic hurdler who has also taken home the European indoor championship.

Naturally, I’ve been in contact with Bayer 04 for a very long period. It’s really amazing for me to be able to join the German double winner right now,” Belocian remarked.
