The News has learned that the Blues inquired about the availability of the Northern Ireland under-21 international

after the 22-year-old’s 23 goals and 12 assists for the National League team in the previous season.

However, it’s said that Pompey is currently considering alternative options as they try to bolster their roster in

preparation for their comeback to the Championship after testing the waters.

The forward’s form for the Moss Lane team has drawn a lot of attention, and in recent weeks, he has been the subject

of a lot of transfer rumors. Wigan, Peterborough, Ipswich, and Mansfield had also expressed interest in signing

Altrincham’s prize player, Pompey, although rumors circulated that the Hale organization had rejected bids for his

services.

It’s said that Wigan has also lost interest. Rob Esteva, the director of football at Alty, stated that the team would only

take what they felt the player was worth before discussing a sale.

“Everyone knows it’s going to be difficult for us to keep Chris, but it has to be right for the club as well as for him,” he

stated in an interview with Radio Alty.

A few proposals have already been made to us, but they have been rejected. In actuality, teams that fall short of our

valuation and the offers we have received thus far are not close enough to allow us to let him leave.

“We’re not requesting outrageous sums of money; rather, we’re requesting a reasonable evaluation of his value, based

on the comparison of other players and the recognition that Chris has outperformed so many of them.

If he does leave,

it will be really sad, but we always support one another, so I’m sure we will have one more.
