Thomas Galdames speaks out as Rangers submit offer to sign him from Godoy Cruz
In light of a possible summer transfer to Ibrox, Thomas Galdames, a target for Rangers, has opened up about his
future with Godoy Cruz. The versatile left-back caught the attention of several European teams who expressed
interest in signing him, Gonzalo Conti. Now, following his team’s Tuesday (4 June) match against Estudiantes, the
Chilean has spoken out about his future in Argentina, as transcribed by Derek Clark on X.
“Nothing is known yet; I have a contract that expires in December,” he stated. My desire has always been to perform
in Europe. In order to leave anything for the club, I want to approach this market carefully. I have Godoy Cruz to
thank for everything. The Chilean mentioned that his current contract expires in December, suggesting that he may
choose to stay in Argentina.Rangers might be able to sign the defender this summer on a free transfer or possibly on
a pre-agreement as a result.
Having said that, they might yet be able to persuade Godoy Cruz to sell him this summer in exchange for a transfer
price.
Prior to the transfer window, the Gers were in the market for a center back, and even after Jose Cordoba joined
Norwich City, they are still interested in signing one. When combined with his versatility as a left and center player,
his physical presence will undoubtedly help the Rangers defense.
Philippe Clent’ems best chance this summer is to sign Galdames and avoid becoming outclassed by another team.
If the Light Blues can persuade the Chilean to relocate to Ibrox, their summer campaign may get underway.
Regarding other Rangers news, it is predicted that Clement would “manoeuvre” Todd Cantwell out of Ibrox in the
summer transfer window.
