Wolves Exclusive: Big update on Che Adams controversy

After initiating negotiations with the Southampton forward last month,

Wolves sent Che Adams an offer of employment, someone close to the player told Football Insider.

The West Midlands club is in advanced talks to sign the Scotland international before his contract

expires at the end of this month, as Football Insider originally reported on May 16. However,

sources claim that he was previously anticipated to leave Southampton,

but with the club’s promotion back to the Premier League, he may now be able to stay at St Mary’s.

After spending the previous five years in Hampshire, Adams and Southampton are

currently negotiating an extension.

After their play-off final triumph against Leeds United, Russell Martin’s

team can now offer the 27-year-old, who has stated that he wants to play in the Premier League next season.

Che Adams could stay at Southampton despite Wolves offer

Adams has been a target for Wolves for some time now, as Football Insider reported

that they were considering him during the January transfer window. Before the most recent development,

it was thought that Gary O’Neil’s team was in the lead over many other teams in the

competition to sign Adams for free.

Adams had a fantastic season with Southampton, making 46 appearances,

contributing six assists, and scoring 17 goals.
Just this year, after pushing his way back into the starting lineup and helping the

Hampshire club win promotion, he recorded 14 of those strikes.

The forward, who has scored 25 goals in 124 Premier League games,

has already shown that he can be a viable alternative.

Adams has already received a contract offer from Wolves and will now consider

whether to prolong his stay at St Mary’s while negotiations take place on the south coast.

In other news, several Wolves talents are expected to be signed by West Ham.
