Toffees moved to sign 20-goal premier league striker who is a free agent this summer
Everton are targeting a move for Fulham’s Bobby Decordova-Reid this summer
The 31-year-old is expected to become a free agent after contract negotiations with the Cottagers collapsed,
giving the Toffees the chance to sign a free agent, according to an online source that published on June 5.
Given their respective financial struggles, it is understood that Leeds United and Everton are vying for
00++’s contract this summer.
Bobby Decordova-Reid’s free transfer is a target for Everton.
A free transfer makes perfect sense given the Toffees’ present financial problems and the fact that they were
penalized twice for PSR violations during the 2023–2024 season.
The winger would also be a welcome addition to Sean Dyche’s current team, given he has scored 20 goals in the
Premier League throughout his career. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure were the only other
real goal scorers in the last campaign.
Before going on a goal-scoring rampage and finishing the season with seven Premier League goals to help
Everton achieve safety in the league, the former took a very long time to get going, managing just three goals.
This summer, Dyche’s squad will also need to address its wing situation, as Jack Harrison’s future at Goodison
Park is uncertain and Arnaut Danjuma is expected to return to Villarreal.
The signing of Decordova-Reid may have disappointed some supporters, but considering the situation at the
team and the uncertainties surrounding the takeover, it is a move that makes perfect sense.
Ever since he made the move from Cardiff City to Fulham on a permanent loan in January 2020,
he has been a consistent performer for the club, making around 200 appearances.
It will be very difficult for Everton to move in the summer transfer market unless Farhad Moshiri is able to sell
the club, which would make things much clearer on Merseyside. Multiple losses are also anticipated.
This summer, players like Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana may be leaving, therefore Dyche will need to
find several replacements. That will be a very difficult task for the management to complete on a low budget.
