Newcastle: Alexander Isak transfer boost and Lloyd Kelly update

Alexander Isak has taken steps to silence rumors that he would sign a summer transfer to Arsenal by declaring that he is “really, really happy” at Newcastle, both on and off the field.

It is anticipated that Newcastle may let go of a few players this summer in order to make room for more players on their roster and still adhere to Premier League profit and sustainability regulations.

The Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, whose £100 million release clause expires at the end of this month, and star player Isak, however, are players the Magpies are determined to hang onto.

Sak, who moved to Tyneside from Real Sociedad two summers ago, has been fantastic this season, scoring 25 goals in all competitions. Newcastle’s opponents have taken notice of his play. Arsenal and Tottenham, rivals in North London, have been closely associated.

Isak, though, is not interested in moving this summer and claims he hasn’t received any hint that the Magpies may need to cash in.

“I’m incredibly happy at Newcastle,” he declared to the Swedish publication fotbollskanalen.

“I had my most successful season to date. You must not undervalue that. I adore the city, the supporters, and the club in its whole.

“I honestly don’t have any plans to move or do something similar. I’m enjoying myself greatly and am content with my life.

“I’m not making any assumptions about it. There hasn’t been any discussion or drama among the team or organization about it. I have not been informed by the club that I would need to be sold.”

Despite suffering setbacks from injuries during his first 18 months on Tyneside, Isak started the season’s final 13 Premier League games and scored 11 goals during that stretch. His 21 Premier League goals this season broke Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s previous best, setting a Swedish record in the English top division.

Looking back on his time at St James’ Park thus far, he commented, “It has been good, especially the second part of the season.”

“I got several cuts and bruises in the first section. Finding the flow was a little challenging at first, but over the past few months, I’ve played more frequently and developed consistency. Additionally, it was evident in the performances.

“In Swedish football, having a record is enjoyable. Then, Zlatan doesn’t exactly come to mind. However, I am largely happy with my season. In a league like the Premier League, I scored a lot of goals. I focus mostly on my own contribution, and I’m happy with it.”

Following the confirmed departure of the defender for Bournemouth, Newcastle will attempt to move on with the signing of Lloyd Kelly.

Kelly is one of five first team players leaving Bournemouth, who released their retained list on Wednesday. Kelly’s contract expires this summer.

The 25-year-old will be back with Eddie Howe, the manager who brought him to Bournemouth from Bristol City, after turning down multiple offers of a new contract at the Vitality Stadium.

Kelly has made it clear that he intends to sign with Newcastle, who suffered a major blow when Chelsea thwarted their attempt to sign Tosin Adarabioyo. His departure from Fulham was made official on Wednesday, and his transfer to Stamford Bridge is about to be completed
