Even though Belgian defender Wout Faes is happy that Leicester City has returned to the Premier League, he hasn’t completely ruled out the prospect of a summer transfer.

Faes, a key member of Leicester’s defense, has been the focus of transfer rumors for the past year, emphasizing his desire to continue playing for the Belgian national team and play frequently at a higher level.

Faes has been connected to multiple moves outside of King Power Stadium throughout the course of the previous 12 months. He acknowledged that he had talked to people about leaving last summer, but he made it clear that he didn’t want to end up on the bench. This strategy made guaranteed he would always be an important member of Leicester City’s lineup, especially when they were fighting their way back to the Premier League by winning the Championship.

When it was claimed that Italian Serie A team Atalanta was interested in hiring Faes, interest in him reached a new high in January.

Faes kept his attention on his efforts for the Foxes, which greatly aided in their Championship triumph, in spite of the persistent rumors.

Given Faes’ impressive performances, it is unsurprising that clubs like Atalanta have been interested in acquiring his signature. Leicester City, aware of his value, would likely seek to recoup the original £15 million they paid for him if they were to consider selling the 25-year-old defender.

His contract with Leicester runs until 2027, providing the club with a strong negotiating position should any offers materialise.
