JUST IN: bryan mbeumo finally makes a career decision on leaving Brenford FC this summer

Bryan Mbeumo, a forward for Brentford, has shown interest in “playing in the biggest competitions at the best clubs,” suggesting that he may be leaving.

The 24-year-old’s current deal has two years left on it, and the club has the option to add one more year to it.

It is unlikely that Brentford will permit Mbeumo to leave in the same window as striker Ivan Toney, who is anticipated to leave the team this summer.

The Cameroonian international said to the French news source L’Equipe, “I have played for Brentford for five seasons, and the club has really helped me develop and turn my life around.

“But yes, I want to play in the biggest competitions, at the best clubs. It’s still exciting to see some of the big teams interested in me. We’ll see.”

Mbuemo has established himself as one of Brentford’s most important players in recent seasons, having scored 50 goals and provided 42 assists in 200 games for the club.

He joined the west London club from French club Troyes in 2019 for £5.4million (€6.3m) and helped them gain promotion to the Premier League in 2021.

Despite his campaign being hampered by injury, he scored nine goals and six assists in 25 games last season.
