Will Still is still a name in the running; reports state that the 31-year-old turned his attention to RC Lens after
agreeing to take over as Sunderland manager. However, he now seems undecided between the two.
Additionally, Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is rumored to be seriously considering former AZ Alkmaar
manager Pascal Jansen.
There is undoubtedly increasing pressure on Louis-Dreyfus and Kristjaan Speakman to appoint a successor for
Michael Beale, who was fired more than three months ago.
Since many jobs are opening and closing at this time of year, it appears that many managerial applicants are biding
their time as well, much like the two of them.
Liam Rosenior ‘biding his time’ after Birmingham City talks
After Hull City’s 2023–24 season ended, Rosenior was fired, even though he led the Tigers to a 7th-place Championship result.
Bookies instantly put him on their lists for the Sunderland position, and Black Cats supporters had differing opinions about the former full-back possibly seizing the lead.
Kevin Phillips, a former striker for Sunderland, believes the 39-year-old would make a fantastic addition to the Black Cats this summer.
However, according to journalist Alex Dicken on X, Rosenior is “biding his time,” having “more than once” spoken with Birmingham City’s managerless team.
Rosenior “has Championship suitors,” Dicken continues. Alex Neil, a former manager of Sunderland, is another candidate for the Blues position.
Should Sunderland plot late swoop for Liam Rosenior
Rosenior has experience and a certain playing style that the owners and supporters may find appealing, which sets him
apart from the other contenders.
He is well known for emphasizing modern, passing, possession-based football as a manager, although Hull City supporters have frequently criticized him for his unwillingness to switch up his approach and his intransigence when choosing his starting lineup.
