CONFIRMED- Asmir Begovic is set to be Harts replacement at celtic

Granted, the transfer window hasn’t even officially opened, and the few rumors that are circulating aren’t exactly ground-breaking.

I should really be waiting off on this, and after reading the Record’s article about Asmir Begovic today, I can see that it makes no mention of a possible trade.
In actuality, Alan Galindo’s story from this morning is a total fabrication.
This is how the headline lures you in:

Asmir Begovic directly responds to a transfer from Parkhead for Celtic, putting the keeper under pressure.
Galindo must be desperate to get hits for his clients, I suppose, but this story is utterly ridiculous.

Galindo makes reference to an exchange on Talksport between Andy Goldstein and Begovic.

Over the season, I’ve published a number of pieces in which I’ve expressed my opinions about Talksport and the so-called commentators that participate in it.

Two names that immediately spring to mind are Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy.

Galindo has led you to an article that, in terms of Begovic’s likelihood of moving to Celtic or not, is the square root of f*** all.

Even if Begovic “smiled instead,” that is unknown to us.

I can only conclude that one of two things is happening after reading this.
First off, in terms of a Joe Hart replacement, the Record is trying to lower the bar significantly.
Alternatively, secondly, Celtic’s search for a goalkeeper has really only gone thus far.
Really, I don’t think it’s the latter.

If this is the case, signing Begovic seems completely ridiculous to me and I’m sure any other readers out there.
especially since there are currently a lot of better solutions available.
a few of whom I touched on in my post from yesterday.
Yes, I am aware that our board has historically demonstrated a severe lack of ambition when it comes to signings, and this kind of signing would fit right in with their operating style, but even they couldn’t be genuinely considering a move of this magnitude.

Let me clarify: Begovic has a great deal of experience.
He has experience playing for major southern clubs including Stoke City, Everton, and Chelsea.
Well, the other two are larger than Stoke.
But the issue is with his age.
On the 20th of this month, he will turn 37.
