Sean Dyche‘s team showed exactly where they need to improve before the next season,

despite a fantastic finish to the season that saw Everton secure survival despite an eight-point deduction.

Only Sheffield United scored fewer goals than the Toffees, who only managed 40 goals overall.

Their 29 goals sealed the division’s basement spot and guaranteed them a straight-up return to the

Championship.

Though they only scored seven goals apiece, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure ended up tied for

the club’s highest Premier League scoring total. Idrissa Gueye, who scored four goals from midfield,

was the next highest scorer.

But in the 2023–24 campaign, Dyche’s defense has been outstanding,

giving in just 51 goals, a record that has only been surpassed by the top three teams in the division less times.

The team will definitely want to add more forwards before the upcoming campaign, but they must use caution

in their commercial dealings to avoid another infraction of the Premier League’s PSR regulations.

One player has been identified by Dyche and the board ahead of the summer transfer window who might add to

the Toffees’ pitiful goal total the following campaign.

To address their goal-scoring problems, Everton is pursuing a Premier League striker.

Everton is reportedly vying with Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Wolves for the signature of Eddie Nketiah, an

Arsenal striker.

The 25-year-old, who the Gunners value at about £30 million, is still a part of Mikel Arteta‘s ambitions,

but Everton’s financial position makes it impossible for them to persuade his team to let him go this summer.

The article goes on to say that Dyche’s squad might instead offer a possible season-long loan,

which might entice Arsenal to consider a move that would allow him to get more playing experience before

making a permanent switch or returning to the first team.

Even so, he scored five Premier League goals in the 2023–2024 campaign, including a hat-trick against

Sheffield United. Should he join the Toffees, his goal-scoring prowess would be quite valuable.
