Leeds United outperform Premier League teams in acquiring a £11 million player this summer
Leeds United are in a battle with Premier League sides for one of their top transfer targets this summer.
After losing to Southampton 1-0 in the play-off final at the end of the previous month,
the Whites were hoped to make it there themselves. As a result, they will now play another season of
Championship football.

Many people have been focusing on who might depart Leeds this summer because of the fact that clubs always
face financial difficulties in the second year following relegation due to the decline in parachute payments.
Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter, Willy Gnonto, and Crysencio Summerville have all been mentioned as potential
departures, but Leeds’ chairman, Paraag Marathe, has been confident that his team will be competitive the next
season.
Insider information on Leeds’ pursuit of Joe Rodon has been transferred.
Although the actual opening of the summer transfer window is not until June 14,
a lot of work in terms of recruitment will be done in the background.
Leeds didn’t sign anyone until the third week of July of last year, and in the end, their sluggish start to the
season proved to be costly. They’ll be anxious to steer clear of the same errors.
Leeds’ top objective is undoubtedly Joe Rodon, although defense will also be a priority.
Alfie Gilchrist of Chelsea has been connected to the team.
Rodon had an outstanding season while on loan at Elland Road, but the contract did not include a buyout
option.
Premier League sides are taking an interest in the £11m man after such a fantastic season, but transfer insider
Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that a permanent signing to the Whites remains a strong possibility.
He said: “It’s one they are looking at. They would like to keep him, but cost depending, salary etc.
I suppose they will see what can happen because he did well. I think he will be one in negotiations now, if a deal
is good enough it is possible. “There is always a chance freshly promoted teams [would take a look], but I don’t
see him being particularly high on many lists. But you never know, and teams can’t be investing £50m on every
player.
