they have not spent more than the £1.7 million they paid for striker John Marquis in the summer of 2019.

To get Burrows, an offer more than three times that amount would probably be required.

Burrows was a standout player for the Posh during the season,

winning the League One Player of the Season award following a performance in which he made seven goals and sixteen assists.

In addition, he increased his value with a brilliant performance at Wembley,

when he scored twice to help Posh win the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

The 22-year-old is currently in the last year of his deal.

The teams involved were not disclosed either time the club rejected a proposal for their captain in January.

Burrows joined the Posh academy at the age of nine, and he has since made 185 appearances for the team.
