Celtic closing in on first signing of the summer

Although Celtic won both the Scottish Cup and the Premiership at the end of the 23–24 season,

large clubs like these experience constant change. They appear to be getting ready for the next campaign in the background already.

After managing to win a game in the Champions League the previous time around,

the objective must be to advance both domestically and in Europe.

They will need to make some signings this summer in order for it to occur.

And it appears that they are getting closer to the initial one already.SS Lazio v Celtic FC: Group E - UEFA Champions League 2023/24

Paulo Bernardo had a successful season while on loan with Celtic. Similar to Jota,

it appears that the intention is to sign him permanently from Benfica.

The agreement includes a buyout option worth about £6 million,

but it’s thought that the Hoops are attempting to haggle with the Portuguese team to reduce that amount.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic are optimistic that they are getting close to finalizing an agreement with Benfica to sign Bernardo permanently.

The Hoops are willing to offer more in the way of add-ons and a sell-on fee, so the talks are going well.

Celtic is nearing completion on their summer signing.

It would be shocking if the midfield player did not wind up at Celtic Park this summer,

given his current situation. The club should be able to reduce that £6 million amount.

Without a doubt, Bernardo is a really talented young man.

And it seems like he still has a lot more to offer.

If he wants to start at Celtic on a regular basis, he has to be much more reliable and productive.
