Portsmouth, Derby County and others in a ‘battle’ to sign Celtic hero

Several EFL teams, like as Derby County and Portsmouth, have been connected to the Hoops player’s summer transfer.

With Real Madrid’s thrilling 15th victory over Borussia Dortmund in Sunday’s Champions League final at Wembley,

the domestic football season in Europe came to a conclusion.

Now that that’s out of the way, all eyes are entirely on Scotland’s preparation for

the European Championship finals in Germany this summer.

There are various international friendlies scheduled prior to that,

and one current Celtic player is currently vying for his first senior cap.

Bosun Lawal, who this week practiced with the senior side of the Republic of Ireland men’s basketball team,

has been officially called up from their under-21 squad to take Andrew Omobamidele of Nottingham Forest’s squad,

who is out due to injury. The Hoops defender has been capped up to the under-21 level thus far.

He spent the previous season on loan at Fleetwood Town, an EFL team.

The Republic of Ireland, who were not selected for the European Championship finals this summer,

will play Portugal at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro on June 11 and Hungary in Dublin tomorrow.

Lawal has been called up amid continuous rumors about what the 20-year-old will do next.

The former Watford academy player was connected to other EFL clubs, including Derby County,

Portsmouth, and QPR, according to reports from last month.

Wigan Athletic, however, may possibly be interested, according to recent rumors,

as former Celtic favorite Shaun Maloney maintains a watch on the situation.

Just five of Lawal’s senior outings for Celtic have taken place outside of the Scottish Premiership.

Despite the Lancashire club’s relegation from England’s Premier League,

he was commended for his efforts at Fleetwood last season.
