Ben Jacobs claims that West Ham United has been following Leeds United star Archie Gray for

“some time” in advance of the summer transfer window.

The sportscaster revealed on June 1st, via Give Me Sport,

that numerous Premier League teams are interested in the 18-year-old, with Brighton, Liverpool,

and Arsenal among those who are monitoring his progress.

Gray is said to be content at Elland Road despite this attention,

and he would love to stay a Leeds player for the duration of the summer transfer window.

Though the Whites lost out on promotion to the Premier League this season,

a sale could still occur as they need to generate money this summer.

Will West Ham United sign Leeds gem Archie Gray during the summer transfer window?

Even though Julen Lopetegui is a former Real Madrid manager,

he is already working throughout the summer transfer window in preparation for the start of preseason,

even if he hasn’t even formally started at the London Stadium.

While it’s unclear if the Hammers will pursue their interest in Gray,

there already seem to be a number of agreements in place for them to recruit players this summer.

Gray is undoubtedly an exciting potential.

This season, the adolescent has stunned both critics and admirers.

David Prutton, host of Sky Sports, called him “phenomenal” [Yorkshire Evening Post, 29 March],

while Lucy Ward praised his “ridiculous” ascent into the first squad at Elland Road [talkSPORT, 16 May].

One of the greatest players in English football might be joining

the Hammers if they can defeat the opposition and sign him before teams like Arsenal and Liverpool.

Getting ahead of the group won’t be easy for the Irons, but if they make Leeds an alluring offer,

they might be able to convince them to split up. Hopefully, they won’t let this chance slip away from them.
