Kemar Roofe to leave Rangers,

The BBC’s and our old friends’ take on the Kemar Roofe story is ridiculously ridiculous, and it barely rises

beyond Ibrox Noise’s “exclusive” revelation that Philippe Clement is the Rangers manager.

For those who haven’t seen it, the sports outlet—which, it seems, got the Phil Cowen story right—now makes the

huge “exclusive” claim that Roofe, a player from Jamaica, won’t be receiving a new contract offer this summer.

Haud the press, this is truly amazing news, the worst-kept secret at Ibrox, to put it mildly.

At yesterday’s press conference, Clement was asked about Roofe by the press as well. This is what he had to say:

“We are taking it step by step with him, so not quite (in terms of his fitness). Today was his first training

session, although it was with the second squad. We hope he returns in a positive manner. I don’t want to give it

a deadline since it would put pressure on Kemar and the medical team. When he is with me, and especially

before that when he is working with them, I want him to be completely fit. He could, of course, play a major role

this season. Yes, it is about working together to complete this and avoiding foolish actions.

However, the BBC felt compelled to misrepresent Clement’s remarks as pertaining to the boy’s fitness rather than the contract dispute.

The BBC specifically reworded the item to read, “Clement insists Roofe can play role this season despite reports of no new contract.”

Clement was simply questioned about his fitness, not about his contract, and we all know that Football Insider

is always willing to make stuff up. As reliable as it gets. However, they’re just running a narrative on this one

based on the glaringly obvious.

In an attempt to get attention, the BBC is continuing to embellish the ridiculous contract narrative from FI.

No, Roofe won’t sign a new contract, and there’s very little chance he’ll play this season.

All of this is known, though.
