Leeds keeping Summerville now ‘impossible’ after bids submitted

Following their failure to return to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider that Leeds United

will not be able to hold onto Crysencio Summerville during the summer transfer window.

Senior writer Pete O’Rourke stated on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that it

is “impossible” for the Dutch attacker to remain at Elland Road given that several bids have already been made

for him.

Last weekend’s Championship play-off final saw Daniel Farke‘s team lose 1-0 to Southampton, just missing out

on promotion.

Leeds is currently under pressure to recover £150 million in player sales in order to comply with financial

standards, as Football Insider reported.

Summerville, a 22-year-old playmaker who has attracted interest from many Premier League clubs, is just one

of many first-team players who might leave Elland Road this summer.

After helping Leeds win the league with nine assists and 19 goals, the Dutch midfielder was voted

Championship Player of the Year.

News of Crysencio Summerville’s departure from Leeds United for £150 million

“Summerville would be the player most likely to leave,” O’Rourke stated in an interview with the Inside Track

podcast. With so many goals and assists this season, he was voted the Championship Player of the Year. He has

certainly proven what he is capable of.

Thus, the Dutchman has been the subject of intense inquiry for a number of years.

“I believe it will be nearly hard to keep him this summer, but Leeds batted off a few bids for him in the last

couple of transfer windows, notably in January, and were able to keep him.

“We are aware that Leeds needs to make money from player sales—they require £150 million in player sales—so

they should be open to offers for all of their best players.”
