Dominic Calvert-Lewin, in the opinion of former Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness, would be “perfect” for Newcastle United.

This summer, the Magpies are reportedly considering a £25 million deal for the Everton striker. Despite losing two games, Calvert-Lewin scored eight goals in all competitions the previous season to assist Sean Dyche’s team stay in the top division.

The England international had two poor seasons at Goodison Park before finding some of his finest form again. According to current reports, Newcastle is reportedly considering Calvert-Lewin as a summertime rival for Alexander Isak.

Callum Wilson may be finishing his four years at St James’ Park following yet another season marred by injuries. Isak has also experienced minor setbacks, which has elevated the need for a striker to the top of Eddie Howe’s wish list.

Wyness, the former manager of the Toffees, has also pushed Newcastle to sign Calvert Lewin, describing him as a “fantastic” striker when healthy.

Toon executives may find it difficult to move him given the rumored £25 million transfer fee because they know he might not be needed at all the next year.

“To be honest, I think he’d be a perfect Newcastle number nine,” he said to Football Insider. He has a great eye for goal, leads the line well, and is excellent when healthy.

“He has a great eye for goal, leads the line well, and is excellent when fit. However, Calvert-Lewin seems to be modeled after the legendary Newcastle strikers.

I would be devastated if he left Everton. Though Everton is limited in what they can offer with a new contract, I sincerely hope he remains.
