On Saturday, Howe watched his new team draw against Brighton.

The most recent name being floated as a potential pick to take over as Sunderland’s head coach is Raphael Wicky.

According to The Sun, former Swiss international Wicky is a candidate for the permanent head coach position,

Howe, who will begin training at Newcastle United on Tuesday, stated,

“It is a great honor to become head coach of a club with the stature and history of Newcastle United.”

For my family and I, today is a really proud occasion.”This is a wonderful opportunity,

but there is also a lot of work ahead of us and I am eager to get onto the training ground to start working with the players.

“I would want to express my gratitude to the club’s owners for this chance and to the supporters for their warm welcome.

I can’t wait to go on our adventure together.”
