Aston Villa are interested in signing Olympiacos star Ayoub El Kaabi, Villa News understands.

On Wednesday, May 29, Olympiacos created history by becoming the first Greek team to win a European trophy,

defeating Fiorentina 1-0 in Athens to win the UEFA Europa Conference League.

El Kaabi was the hero once more, scoring the winning goal late in extra time.

It was his 11th goal of the tournament, five of which came in both legs of Olympiacos‘ semi-final victory over Aston Villa.

Following his European heroics, it appears that Villa has taken notice.

Aston Villa could make a move for Olympiacos star Ayoub El-Kaabi.

According to a source with close ties to the West Midlands-based club, El Kaabi is a player “of interest.”

Unai Emery’s team were eager to see how the striker performed in the final.

Villa News understands that the club is currently looking to sign the Morocco international.

Olympiacos beat Villa 6-2 on aggregate in the Conference League semi-finals.

El Kaabi scored a hat trick in a 4-2 win at Villa Park on May 2, followed by two goals in the return leg in Greece on May 9.

The 30-year-old joined Olympiacos on a free transfer from Al-Saad SC last summer.

He has 33 goals and three assists in 50 games for the club.

El Kaabi has 22 goals in 44 appearances for Morocco.
