According to Keith Wyness, the former head of Aberdeen, Brendan Rodgers would have lost his job if Celtic had
not won the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old stated that focus will
now shift to getting the Hoops competitive in the Champions League, where they have “a mountain to climb” to
the top sides. He held executive positions at Aberdeen from 2000 to 2004, as well as long tenures as the head of
Everton and Aston Villa. Currently, he runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs.
On Wednesday, May 15, Celtic won the Scottish Premiership title with one game remaining, defeating
Kilmarnock 5-0 on the road.
