Ipswich town appoint Xavi as new head coach after sacking McKenna

Town boss Kieran McKenna’s new contract is still with the lawyers and confirmation of the new deal is now expected to be confirmed on Thursday.

It is acknowledged that there is no need for alarm now that a longer-term,

more profitable agreement has been reached, but legal teams are still working through the nuances.

The Blues manager was at Portman Road yesterday. A picture of him and his son playing football on the field went viral on social media,

but it’s now thought that the boy has left for overseas.

Though legal teams are currently sorting out the finer points,

it is accepted that there is no reason for worry now that a longer-term, more lucrative arrangement has been negotiated.

Yesterday, the manager of the Blues was at Portman Road. Following the global success of a photo of him and his son playing football on the field,

it is now believed that the boy has moved abroad.Barcelona considering sacking head coach Xavi : r/football

Before Chelsea announced their interest in the Blues boss early last week,

Brighton is said to have believed he was ready to join them.

We understand the Seagulls have given the Northern Irishman until this Wednesday to commit to moving to Sussex,

as there was little progress in the following days and as the issue progressed.

However, McKenna ultimately favored staying at Portman Road,

just as was the case with Crystal Palace when they expressed interest in February—

a switch that it has now been revealed was closer than it appeared at the time.

The CEO of ORG, a US investment firm that manages funds on behalf of the Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS),

the club’s majority owner, Ed Schwartz, flew over from the States to hold talks with CEO Mark Ashton and McKenna,

while the speculation about the other clubs continued unabated. The Blues made every effort to hold onto their manager.

Those negotiations were clearly successful,

and Town supporters can rest easy knowing that their talisman manager will still be in charge when the team returns to the Premier League in August following a 22-year absence.
