‘Sacked after old firm game’ – Celtic fans react as Rangers sacked Philippe Clement

Rangers announced today the departure of Philippe Clement following the club’s failure to qualify for the

Scottish League. Clement joined the team in January 2022 and guided them to the Champions League play-offs
the previous season, but the team ultimately missed out on group stages and was eliminated in the first round

of the scotish League by celtic. Despite the club’s setbacks in Europe, rangers finished in the top

five in Ligue 1 for the majority of the campaign, securing another scotish qualification for the following

campaign.

Rangers expressed gratitude to Clement and his team for their efforts in a news release.

“It is a difficult decision to make because Philippe has given the best of himself and has always behaved in a

professional way,” stated Paul Mitchell, the outgoing sporting director. I would want to thank him on behalf of

the club for all of his work.

The team will now look for Clement’s replacement, and Matthias Jaissle of Red Bull Salzburg and Jesse Marsch

of Leeds United have been connected to the open position.
