Among Leeds’ best players, Summerville is drawing the most attention due to his outstanding performance in
the 2023–24 season.
This season, the Netherlands Under-21 international made 49 appearances for Leeds across all competitions,
starting 45 of those games.
Despite his 21 goals and ten assists, Leeds lost to Southampton in the play-off final on Sunday, May 26, at
Wembley.
Now more than ever, the Yorkshire giants will need to offload players during the summer transfer window.
Leeds accepted that Summerville would go, requiring £150 million in sales.
On Sunday, May 26, Football Insider disclosed that the Whites need to recover a staggering £150 million in
player sales due to their inability to secure promotion.
The team owes £190 million for transfers made under the Andrea Radrizzani period, and their most recent
financial statements showed a £33.7 million loss following player sales.
Summerville signed a contract at Elland Road until June 2026. He moved to Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020.
Since making his club debut in 2021, he has grown to be their most valuable and significant star.
This season, Daniel Farke‘s team placed third in the Championship; they will resume in the second division on
August 10.
